A new bedroom for my princess

I've been considering re-doing Hayley's room for a while now.  I was so tired of the Hello Kitty theme and feeling restricted.  I wanted to do something girly where I can sometimes change the curtains, add scatter cushions  change the wall art, carpet in her room etc.

So this morning I decided to go and just see what I can find and I'm so happy with the outcome of her room.

She's been sleeping on her big bed, but we took the base of, and we've been accident free for a while now, so I also decided to move her room and but the base of the bed back.  So wish me luck that she does not fall of tonight.

What do you guys think?

So we went and collected Pippie the puppy....

... along with Max her brother.  Oh boy!

So a few weeks ago I wrote a post about Hayley's first puppy, that we are going to name Pippie.

On Friday the owner phoned to say we can come and collect her.  As we got there they already had Pippie seperate from the rest of the puppy's and as we were about to leave, this little creature came out of no where, ran straight to Hayley and they just collected.

That is how we ended up with 2 puppies instead of one. :-)

Pippie is such a gentle little thing.  She was the last born and also the smallest.  But a little tough cookie, already jumping of the couches and chewing everything in her way.  She also sleeps alot!  Way more than other puppies.  She will be running and playing and if you look again she sits up straight, fast asleep.  She is also very independant and does her own thing.

Max, our big boy, is scared, does not try anything he does not feel safe doing.  Wants loads of attention and to be picked up constantly, but he is so cute and loves Hayley.  Hayley also adores him and prefers playing with him and picking him up.

It feels as if our house is filled with 3 toddlers at the moment and it's crazy, but I love every moment spend with my husband child and our new additions.

A lovely day spent at the Botanical Gardens

So the Sunday after my birthday we stopped at the shop and bought some snacks and drove through to the Botanical Gardens.

I love taking Hayley there.

She normally runs around like crazy, we play ball, eat and just spent some family time together.  Best part of all is that it is a brilliant place to take some stunning photos.  I'm no talented photographer and really just own a 'mik en druk' camera, but I always love the photos we get from here the most.

Here is some photo's of our day, we had such an awesome time.

The big 3-0 celebration

So... on 2 February 2013 I turned 30!

We had a braai at our house from 12 the afternoon and had around 30 people over.  It was a super busy day, but I loved every moment.  It was awesome having all my friends, family and loved one's to share this big birthday with me.

It was great fun and the last guests only left our house at 10 the evening.

I was so tired, but happy and I felt so special.

I was spoiled with loads of gifts and I am glad that I ended up having a party.

My baby is growing up

The last week has been very excited and also bitter sweet.  Our baby is growing up.

At times I feel excited and overwhelmed for the journey ahead of us and at times I feel sad.  I think back to the days where Hayley was a new born and I Google'd for ideas on how to entertain her, as she could not even hold a soft toy or keep her head up.

In the last week my baby moved to the Potty Training class, she has gone a week without her night time bottle, wakes up with a dry nappy every morning and is starting to speak in a way that she can mostly tell us what she wants and whats bugging.

The school says she's doing really well with the potty training.  She sits on the potty and does her business.  No number 2 yet, but at least she has the idea.  I've been struggling at home, she sits on the potty for long periods just to get up and do her business on the floor.  At least she clearly knows how to hold it in.  I've started to think that she's not ready, but she is showing all the signs 'the books' talk about.  Asking to take her nappy off and telling you when she wants to go to the bathroom...

I've printed a rewards chart, taken out the stickers and practiced my 'potty dance' and nothing.  Then this morning she woke up, looked all anxious and told me she wants to go to the toilet, even although she had a nappy on.  I ran, put her on the potty and she actually had her first wee at home.  I was so excited, did my 'potty dance', got her to choose her sticker for her chart, gave her another to put on her hand to brag at school and gave her a Smartie for breakfast.  I'm one proud mother.

I also officially packed away all her bottles this morning.

Sweetheart, how bitter sweet, you are becoming a big girl now!

Now... only to sort out all the sleep issues.

Greetings,

C

We're adding another member to our family

No, not what you're thinking.  We're getting a new puppy.  Firstly due to Hayley's big love for all animals, we  decided to get her a puppy of her own, one that she can grow up with and secondly because our other fur baby seems a bit lonely.

A friend of hubby phoned to say that their dog had 7 puppies and that we can bring Hayley to choose one.  I wish I could take a photo of that little face when she saw all the puppies.  She also proudly named the puppy Pippie and makes it clear to us that it is her dog.

With Pippie only being a few weeks old it's still about another month before we can bring her home and make her part of our little family.

Big day today

I've been unemployed since early December 2012.

It's a very scary situation to be in as we bought a house last year and have 2 cars to pay for.  This being said I've actually been feeling rather calm about everything. I trust that God will provide and that this is the year I will find my dream job. I just need to keep faith.

So... To get back to the point I was contacted yesterday to by a fantastic company to come in for an interview today! I will give it everything and I believe that I will succeed should this be for me, if not something better will follow.

I promise to keep everyone up to date!

Greetings,

C
