Preggy update and GENDER reveal :-)

Can’t believe that 2 weeks passed since my last update.  This pregnancy is flying by, but at times also feel like its passing so slow.

Yesterday we had our 17 week scan, I decided to move to a new doctor and I am so happy with the choice I made.  I am glad I decided to move.  We also had our gender reveal, but more about that in the update that follows below:

1. How far along are you now? 17 Weeks

2. When is your due date? 8 July 2014

3. What has been your preggy high this week? Finding out the gender and seeing baby move around on the scan yesterday

4. What has been your preggy low this week? Been sick with the flu, again, really feeling terrible and very sorry for myself.  Also waiting for blood results after glucose was picked up in my urine, not too worried as I read this can be normal in pregnancy as long as the levels are really low.

5. What is your current over-riding emotion? Excited about the baby’s gender

6. What is on your list of things to do in the next month re prep for baby? Take Hayley shopping this weekend to buy something for the baby.  Start sorting out the baby’s room, moving furniture and moving the cot into the room

7. When is your next appointment? 24 February 2014

8. What is your current craving? Nothing

9. How are you feeling physically? Preggy related I feel so much better; just wish this flu will disappear

10. How are you feeling emotionally? Really excited, sometimes anxious for having a second child, but I know it will all work out in the end

11. How is your partner dealing with the pregnancy at this stage? Really great, he does so much in and around the house to try and help me feel better and comfortable. I am so grateful that he is in my life.  He is really super excited at the moment.

12. Do you know the sex of your baby yet? Yes!!! It’s a little boy and we will be calling him Logan.  He was flashing us over and over again during the scan, making sure we see that he is definitely a little boy.

13. Will you be trying for Natural or Caesar? Caesar

14. Which hospital will you be having your baby at? Krugersdorp Netcare

15. How are you feeling about the pregnancy at this point? Loving it! It is such a special thing to go through. I have days where I worry, but mostly I can’t wait. As much as I want time to fly I also want time to take a bit longer so that I can take in everything of this pregnancy as it will be my last.  I am really looking forward to feeling proper movement.  At times I feel light movements, making me so excited for what is to come.
16. What is your tummy measurement? Don’t know

17. How much does your baby weigh at the moment? (Or at last scan). 160 gr and 13 cm according to my weekly email update

18. How much weight have you gained to date? 3 kg

19. What is your nursery room theme? Painting the room blue, but still deciding between a car theme, sea theme or lizard theme

20. What is the best preggy advice you have been given? Listen to your body and rest when possible

Below is a pic of our little boy from our scan yesterday.

Product Review : Clicks Bio Oil Range

I recently bought myself the Clicks Bio Oil Body Wash and Body Lotion.  I use it religiously, every day.  With Hayley I never got any stretchmark’s and hope I can be so lucky this time as well.

I do still remember going through phases where my skin was really itchy and felt dry and the same started happening this week.  Next I want to buy the Clicks Bio Oil spray as well.

Our 13 week scan

Had our 13 week scan on Tuesday, 31 December 2013.

Baby is doing really well and doctor is very happy with everything.  Baby was kicking up a storm and waving his/her arms.  Our doctor joked and said that baby is having his/her own New Year’s celebration.  I still can’t believe there is a little person growing inside of me.

I am so glad that we are now finally approaching the 2nd trimester.  I am hoping that the tiredness and nausea will wear of soon and that I will get some energy back to actually clean my house, cook food and be a good mother and wife.  I feel so guilty for being so tired all the time lately.

Our next appointment is 28 January.  I will be 17 weeks then, so hopefully baby will play along so that we can find out the gender.  Hubby thinks boy, I think girl, but maybe only because I have a girl and can’t really imagine myself with a little boy.  Either way we will be happy as long as the baby is healthy and the pregnancy goes well.

We sat last night and made a short list of 5 girl and 5 boy names.  We did the same with our daughter after 12 weeks and when the gender was confirmed at 16 weeks I chose my favourite name from the list, this time around it will be hubby’s turn to choose his favourite name.

I am so excited and can’t wait.  Once we know the gender I am definitely going to the shops to buy a blue or pink outfit.

In my previous pregnancy I also did a pregnancy  checklist and I would like to do the same in this pregnancy, it helps to pass the time, although, this being my last pregnancy I really don’t want time to go to fast as I would like to enjoy each moment, even all the aches and pains:

My Pregnancy Checklist:
Enter the second trimester:
Find out the gender:

Name our baby:

Start to feel Movement:

Hubby to start feeling movement:

Enter the third trimester:

Go on maternity leave:

Have baby:
